Kindergarten
This week during library, kindergarten will be using the Ipads to log in and use the Tumble Books app to read interactive books. Parents can log in from home as well : tumblebooks.com

First Grade
This week we will be continuing our study of digital citizenship. We will be watching the video and discussing the ways that you can stay safe while using the Internet. The lesson will end with a quick assessment that shows what we know.
Second Grade
Second graders will also be learning about digital citizenship. We are focusing on the the idea that words have power. Students will identify emotions using emotes and discuss the importance of using kind words when they talk to other people face to face or while they are online.
We will be watching this video to help the discussion.
Third Grade
Third grade will be focusing on the Language Arts TEK: Main Idea: TEK 13A Identifying the details or facts that support the main idea in expository (nonfiction) texts and the Science TEK: The students know the Earth consists of natural resources and it's surface is constantly changing: (D) explore the characteristics of natural resources that make them useful in products and materials such as clothing and furniture and how resources may be conserved.
We will be logging into the online encyclopedia, https://school.eb.com to read an article on natural resources. Students will identify the 4 headings in the article and find supporting details from the article.
Fifth Grade
Fifth grade students have also been learning about digital citizenship-specifically about cyberbullying. This week we will be showing what we know by logging into a presentation program using Peardeck.com. Peardeck is a great website that allows classroom discussion.Students answer questions in this online format. Each student will have a "student takeaway" in their Google Drive to review what they should do if they are being cyberbullied. The next time we meet, students will be logging into Canvas, the district's online learning platform. They will be taking a test over what they have learned.
